Growing up living
under the same roof as my parents was actually one of best time of my life. I don’t
need to worry about food if I am hungry, cos I would just simply walk to the
kitchen to find meals since Mum does all the cook thing. To be honest, I was
such a lazy bone to do that kitchen thingy. I swear my Mum was always moaning
each time I refuse her command to cook (I’m sorry, Mum!), but that doesn’t mean
I did literally nothing when she cooks, I did help, a little.
Ever since I moved to another city
for study and started to live on my own, I realized that cooking skill is
actually beneficial. Not only it helps you to fulfill your appetite, but it also
supports you to save some money that you spend on food! In fact, I’ve had
started to cook my own meal and trained my cooking skill since then (especially
when I run out the cash cos of buying too much books! #bookwormproblem).
As a student, the end of the month
is definitely a pain in the ass. It’s such a struggle to survive with almost no
money in the ATM and also barely own some cash in the purse. Being young and
broke is no fun, really. So, in order to keep me alive and sane, I had an idea
to make my own cake for my snacking time whilst having a movie marathon in my
crib.
Long story short, I looked up on the
internet this easy peasy and super cheap cake recipe, and my choice goes to
Oreo Pudding. You need basically few ingredients to make this sweet cake, and
not much money to spend, of course. So, with that being said, I’d share some of
the easy steps on how to make the Oreo Pudding below, just in case if you ever
need ideas on how to make a low-budget yet delicious cake. Here we go.
Ingredients:
- 500 ml of Whole Milk
- 1 Sachet of Plain Jelly Powder (I used Nutrijell)
- 5 tbs Sugar
- 1 Pack of Oreo Cookie
Directions:
- Separate the Oreo cookies from its cream.
- Crush the cookies into pieces as you like.
- Pour the Whole Milk, Plain Jelly Powder, and Sugar into a pan.
- Stir it well and wait up ‘till it’s boiling by using small fire.
- (Optional) Put the Oreo cream in the mixture and stir them well.
- Once it’s boiling, pour the crushed cookies and stir them for 30sec.
- Pour the boiling mixture to your chosen pudding bowl and let it sit for 30min.
- Put it in the fridge to cool for another 30min.
- Take out from the fridge and enjoy!
